2 Refusals & Our Success!
A client approached me regarding his wife’s application for the spousal open work permit. Unfortunately, the lawyer who worked with him previously submitted the application twice and both times, they received refusal. We went over the previous applications and identified strategies to make the application stronger. Along with the final submission, we included additional documents as proof of ties to home country as well as employment documents from the husband in Canada. The application was approved, and a work permit was issued.
Crazy OINP Submissions
Prior to Expression of Interest system for OINP registration, clients were required to submit their application on a first-come, first-serve basis. This ended up on creating a high demand of people trying to apply at the same time. The program would open and usually close within first hour. We had clients interested in the program and, on the opening day, we were able to register them all within a limited amount of time. We successfully submitted all OINPs within 2 weeks after registration and got approvals in 3-5 months.
Common-Law Express Entry
We submitted an Express Entry application with a common-law dependent. The couple were worried as to whether or not they would be approved. After their ITA, we provided many documents proving their common law status as well as all the other three required documents, allowing them to qualify for PR. Their application was approved within 4 months after submission.
LMIA for a 1-Year-Old Business
We were approached by a construction company in Ontario whose owner performed the duties of both a manager and different services within the company (installations, construction etc.). He was the only employee. In addition, his company had been in operation for less than a year. The employer was struggling on his own, and couldn’t find anyone locally with the skill set he required for the job. He said he interviewed an applicant from overseas who matched his needs, and he believes that the foreign worker will increase his profit once hired.
We helped the employer with a LMIA submission as well as a work permit application. The case was relatively complex, but both applications were approved.
